Bonnie (Legal Assistant)
Bonnie has been working at the Harcourt Law Group since December 2010, starting as our friendly receptionist. Since joining our team, Bonnie has moved on from reception and has had on-the-job training in many legal aspects including family law, wills and estates, litigation, and a specialization in corporate matters. Bonnie has also been appointed a commissioner for oaths in and for the province of Alberta. She has spent much of her time taking Alberta Government Accreditation courses in order to serve our corporate clients better in relation to the Alberta Corporate Registry. She has obtained her CORES Level 3, the highest obtainable level, which allows her to perform many transactions on the corporate registry website such as incorporations, amalgamations, mergers, dissolutions, revivals, and several other transactions. This is beneficial for the corporations we service, as we can offer these services in-house in an efficient and timely manner. When not in the office, Bonnie can be found spending time with her family, her two dogs, and enjoying outdoor activities such as gardening, hiking, and boating.
Pam Farrow (Legal Assistant)
Pam joined Harcourt Law Group in July 2015 after being with Legal Aid Alberta for 16 years. Since joining Harcourt Law Group, Pam has mainly been working with child welfare matters but has also gained knowledge in the areas of Wills and Estates as well as Family Law. When not in the office, Pam enjoys time with her husband and family get-togethers with her four grown children and five grandchildren.
Lana Vassallo (Legal Secretary)
Originally from the BC Peace Country, I got my start working in the field of law in Dawson Creek, BC, doing conveyancing. I relocated to Peace River in 2008, where I continued working as a legal assistant for the firm of Thietke Harcourt LLP. In 2011, I left the law firm, switching gears to the role of a full-time mom. Back in 2019, I decided to get back into a full-time position in the field of law, starting back with Mr. Harcourt again, this time named Harcourt Law Group.
I find being a legal secretary is enjoyable, and there are always new things to learn and grow from. Throughout, I have kept busy, not only being a parent but an artist of different mediums. My work has been published in magazines, and I have even sold a number of my paintings. I usually have a few oil paintings on the go at any given time. My family and I are now living on the farm, working with cows, horses, chickens, and gardening. It is a great way of life and the best way, I think, to raise a family.
I joined Harcourt Law Group in July 2017. I have a husband, two children, and a dog named Zeus. I have gained a significant amount of knowledge about the different aspects of the law since I started. I am very lucky to be able to gain experience and work on matters in many different areas of law. While working for the firm, I have been able to attain my CORES Levels 1 and 2. I have also been able to complete the Legal Assistant Diploma Program through Bow Valley College in Calgary, and I received my Diploma at the end of January 2021. When I am not working, I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends.
I started at Harcourt Law in April of 2021. I was born and raised in Peace River. I have two grown children. I have 5 years of experience working at another law firm in town. In my spare time, I like to play slopitch, watch my sons play sports, go camping and spend time with family and friends.
